About Timothy Craig

For those of you who are not familiar with Timothy Craig, now is your chance. He was originally born in Wisconsin, but made he way south at the early age of five when his parents moved to South Florida. His father was an avid music lover and actually put himself through college by writing songs and fronting a rock and roll band throughout the 60's.
By the time Timothy was in junior high, he had started his own band called the CT2Express. Although the group only played at Timothy's house, this gave him a chance to learn how to play music and have a feel for an audience, even if it was just family and friends.

After high school, he went to college at the University of Florida. This is when Timothy really started opening up to his creative side. He started writing songs that reflected his influences. After realizing that he wanted to pursue a life in music, he packed up his things and headed for Music City.

Once he arrived in Nashville, Timothy put together a band an started playing his original tunes at local clubs and events. This eventually led to him becoming an opening act for Cheap Trick during a show on the Riverfront. After playing in Nashville for a while, Timothy decided it was time for a change and headed west to Los Angeles, California. Once there, he put together another band and also landed some roles for television shows such as "American Dreams" and "NYPD Blue." He also started playing in some of the hottest clubs in town, which gave his music even more exposure.

Now, with the release of his fifth album, Timothy spends most of his time back in Nashville. Hearing him sing on this album is like listening to someone tell a story right from the heart. Each word describes his feelings and each feeling describes him.

You Got It - The Songs:

The first tune off this record is also the title track. This is not a bad song, but really is not as good as the others. In a way, it is very repetitive, but the meaning is great. It is about a man who is so in love with his other half, that he tells her that he will do anything to change anything she does not like. This is truly a tune that would let any woman know just how much you love her.
"She's All About The Beat" is great. It is all about a woman who is a music lover. The funny thing about it is that she is not listening to the music simply for the lyrics, but for the beat. Listening to it reminds me of something that John Mellencamp would sing. There is a nice mixture of country, rock, and soul all blended into one terrific song.

Another tune that sounds like Mr. Mellencamp is "I Can Stop Any Time I Want." Again, Timothy is singing about a women that he is deeply in love with. He is very clear that he could stop loving her any time he wants, but he would never do that. This is a great tune that describes how someone feels and really hits home for listeners across the board.

"Close Enough For Me" is a good track, but does not come close to "Not Done Yet." This tune is rockin'. In away, it reminds me of a tune that would be in a movie or television show. When someone has a passion, they always strive to do it better. Sure, there are times when it seems like it is impossible to continue, but your heart will not let you quit.

Bringing this record to a close is a tune called "One Small Miracle." This is the slowest song on the record and strictly acoustic. It is about a relationship coming to an end.

You Got It is great. If you check it out, you won't regret it.
