    • 1). Ensure that the washer's lid is securely closed. A Kenmore Series 90 washer will not spin if its internal computer detects that the washer door is open. Ensure that the door is tightly shut before beginning your wash cycle.

    • 2). Verify that your Kenmore Series 90 is set to perform a spin cycle. The soak cycle, used for certain delicate fabrics, does not involve the same amount of spinning as other cycles. Turn the cycle selection dial to a different setting and try again.

    • 3). Reduce the size of the load in the drum of the washing machine. Very large loads can be too heavy for a washing machine to turn. Wash heavy items like curtains, duvets and towels in separate loads if necessary.

    • 4). Plug the washing machine directly into a suitable electrical outlet. A Kenmore Series 90 washer needs a high-voltage, four-prong electrical outlet to power the drum. Your washing machine may not spin without the correct power supply or if it's plugged into an extension cord. Contact an electrician if you suspect that your dryer is not connected properly.
