Clean the Hard Drive

• 1). Organize and delete unused files and any files you no longer need.
  
  
• 2). Go to "Start," then "Control Panel" and select "Add & Remove Programs." Delete any program you don't need.
  
  
• 3). Select "Start," then "Accessories." Click on "System Tools" and then "Disk Cleanup." Make sure everything is check-marked, and click "Accept."
  
  
• 4). Go to "Start," "Accessories," "All Programs." Click on "System Tools" and then "Disk Defragment." Some Windows versions require that you first "Analyze" the hard drive and then "Defragment."
  
  

Clean the Acer Aspire 3628

• 1). Turn off the computer and remove the battery pack.
  
  
• 2). Use a clean, soft, slightly damp, cotton cloth to clean the outer casing of the laptop. Always keep the laptop free of dust. This prevents overheating and keeps dust from building up inside the laptop.
  
  Spray window cleaner on the cloth to clean the screen. Never spray directly on the screen.
  
  
• 3). Blow compressed air into all the cooling vents. Don't blow them too hard or you will get liquid on the fan blades.
  
  
• 4). Use cotton swabs to wipe out I/O ports and then blow compressed air in to get rid of the rest of the dust.
  
  

Software Updates

• 1). Update the Antivirus software. Open your antivirus program and click on "Update."
  
  
• 2). Go to "Start," Control Panel, then click on "Windows Security Center." Click on the Windows update option that best fits your needs.
  
  
• 3). Check for updates for other software you have. For example, if you have Microsoft Office, then check the Microsoft website for important updates.

• 1). Periodically go to the Acer website and click on "Support."
  
  
• 2). Input the Acer model number, which is Aspire 3628.
  
  
• 3). Download the manual for your Acer Aspire 3628, and refer to it when servicing the computer.
  
  
• 4). Look for important updates or information relating to your model.
