    • 1). Remove the parking brake hood by removing the screws fastening it to the center console. This should give you access to the parking brake lever assembly.

    • 2). Jack up the rear of the vehicle using the automobile jack. Place a jack stand on each side so that both rear tires are in the air.

    • 3). Put the car in neutral.

    • 4). Apply the parking brake. Using the adjustable wrench, tighten the self-locking nut on the parking brake assembly until the rear wheels are difficult to turn.

    • 5). Back off the nut slowly until the rear wheels turn freely.

    • 6). Lower the vehicle and remove the jack stands. Replace the parking brake hood.
