How to Make a Pomander With Silk Flowers
- 1). Fill the tennis-ball tube with the unscented gel beads. The beads can be found in craft stores and are designed to retain scents over a long period of time.
- 2). Administer approximately 40 drops of essential oil to the beads in the tube. Aromatic oils come in a variety of scents, including lavender, lemon balm, anise seed, myrrh, and sandalwood.
- 3). Place the cap snugly onto the tennis-ball tube.
- 4). Poke several small holes in the top of the cap and the sides of the tube with a knife, above the line of beads. This allows the scent to diffuse throughout the room.
- 5). Glue an end of the silk cord to each side of the tennis ball tube. Allow to dry for 10 minutes. This will be the cord you use to hang the pomander.
- 6). Remove the petals from your silk flowers. You'll need about 4 cups of petals.
- 7). Glue individual petals to the tube, starting on top of the lid and working down it, completely covering the surface of the tube until the plastic is no longer visible.
- 8). Glue a second layer of petals to the pomander, overlapping previously applied petals.
- 9). Allow the pomander to dry for an hour.
