How to Grow Jasmine Berries
- 1). Find a healthy jasmine plant. Jasmine is grown from cuttings, not seeds or berries, so look for a plant that's already well-established.
- 2). Cut off a piece of stem 3 to 6 inches long with sharp garden shears. Make a quick, clean cut that will not damage the stem. Cut the stem in the morning when moisture content in the plant will be high.
- 3). Snip leaves off the lower section of stem, leaving the lower half of the cutting smooth.
- 4). Wrap the cutting in clear plastic to keep it moist and humid.
- 5). Fill a pot (at least 4 inches in diameter) with rich potting soil.
- 6). Plant the cutting in the pot right away. The bare section of stem should be placed into the soil 1 to 2 inches deep. Cuttings will take one to two months to develop roots and begin to grow.
- 7). Keep the cutting in full sunlight and maintain uniformly moist soil. Jasmine berries may be grown in sandy soil.
- 8). Fertilize jasmine once a month in order to keep it healthy.
