How to Run AutoCAD on a MacBook Pro
- 1). Verify that your system can run AutoCAD. The Mac version requires you to be using at least a MacBook Pro 5.1, with 6.1 recommended. You must also be running OS X 10.6.4 or later or OS X 10.5.8 or later.
Your MacBook should have a 64-bit Intel processor with at least 3 GB of RAM, with 4 GB recommended. - 2). Download the installation file from AutoDesk's website. From the AutoCAD for Mac section of the site, click the "Product Trial" link. Fill out the online form, and download the .dmg file.
- 3). Double-click the downloaded file to extract the disc image. Open the disc image, and drag the AutoCAD software icon into your Applications folder. All necessary files will be copied, installing the software.
- 4). Delete the .dmg file, and eject the disc image. AutoCAD will now run on your MacBook Pro.
- 5). Purchase the software by visiting the "How to Buy" link on the AutoDesk website. From here you can purchase a license key to enable you to keep a fully functional version of the software.
