    • 1). Open Windows Media Player and click "Burn."

    • 2). Drag and drop the audio file you want to convert to MP3 into the burn list on the right side of Windows Media Player.

    • 3). Click "Start Burn" in the lower-right corner.

    • 4). Insert a blank CD-R into your computer and Windows Media Player will automatically burn the audio file to CD.

    • 5). Click the "Rip" button when Windows Media Player has finished burning the CD.

    • 6). Click the arrow that appears when you hover your cursor over the "Rip" button.

    • 7). Select "Format" from the drop-down menu that appears and choose "MP3."

    • 8). Click "Start Rip" in the lower-right corner of Windows Media Player and the CD will automatically be ripped to MP3.

    • 9). Eject the CD when finished. You have now made an MP3 using Windows Media Player.
