George Strait is timeless. In a Country Music field that usually tends to push its older stars aside, Strait is still going strong, with over 50 No. 1 songs to his credit, and Platinum albums by the truck load.
While he doesn't compete with Dierks Bentley for the road dog award, George Strait tours every year for a few months, and pretty much sells out every show. Stars clamor to be his opening act.
At the ACM Awards, George took home ACM Single of the Year for "Give It Away." The song also won the ACM Song of the Year for the songwriters. At the CMA Awards, George won CMA Album of the Year for It Just Comes Natural, and "Give It Away" won the CMA Song of the Year award for the songwriters.
George Strait released three songs to country radio in 2007. "Wrapped" peaked at No. 2, "It Just Comes Natural" went all the way to No. 1, and "How 'Bout Them Cowgirls" peaked at No. 4.
