How to Remove the Front of a Sunbeam Air Conditioner
- 1). Unplug the Sunbeam air conditioner power cord from the outlet. Although you are not working with the electrical components of the air conditioner, it is a safe practice to disconnect electricity from the unit when working on it.
- 2). Grasp the top corners of the front grill with your fingers. Pull the top forward, releasing the pin tabs on the back of the front from the holes in the air-conditioner frame. Set the front out of your way.
- 3). Find the screws securing the front, if it did not simply pull away. Some Sunbeam window air conditioners have screws on the side of the front while some of the portable air conditioners have screws on the side and in between the fins of the front.
- 4). Remove the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the front away from the air conditioner.
