    • 1). Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Loosen the cable clamp on the negative terminal until the cable can be slid off the terminal. Then, pull the cable off the negative terminal. (When working on any electrical component, it's important that you always disconnect the battery to avoid electrical shock, damaging the electrical components, or both.)

    • 2). Locate the lights you need to replace.

    • 3). If the lights in your year/model of Corolla are held in by screws, remove the retaining screws on the bulb cover. If they are a tab design, gently wedge the flat-tip screwdriver under the notch in the plastic light cover and pry the cover off.

    • 4). Pull the bulb straight out of the bulb housing.

    • 5). Insert a new bulb.

    • 6). Replace the bulb cover.
