    • Though low in fat, deer meat is high in cholesterol. High intakes of cholesterol can lead to high blood pressure and coronary heart disease.

    Sodium

    • Deer is very low in sodium. The low sodium makes up for the high cholesterol as sodium is a contributor to high blood pressure.

    Protein

    • Like most meats, deer meat is a perfectly good source of protein.
