T-Molding Uses

  • The Armstrong laminate T-molding is designed to cover the seam in the flooring between two different rooms when they meet in a doorway. Each room's floor is installed independently from the next. The floor systems are called a "floating floor," which means they are not nailed to the floor. Rather the pieces of flooring attach to one another, and then they are held against the ground by the molding installed around the perimeter of the room.

When two similarly finished rooms meet, the flooring does not connect between the rooms. The gap is covered by a thin finished trim called "T-molding."
