Information on the Daiwa 233 Fishing Reel
- Daiwa was founded in the 1950s and its first reels rolled off of the line in 1955. Its first American factory was opened in Culver City, California, in 1966. The Daiwa 233 was one of the earlier fly reels produced, with models dating back to the early 1970s.
- According to Anglers' Rendezvous, Daiwa 233 reels were known for their solid construction and quiet operation. Optional features included an adjustable drag controlled from a lever mounted on the reel's back plate.

Used Daiwa 233 reels are relatively rare online. Of the few that come up, most seem to be listed by sellers located in the United Kingdom. Prices range from 20 to 30 pounds, or roughly between $35 and $45 in U.S. dollars.
