How to Rig the Scrambler Kayak

    • 1). Set the long bungee cord over the farthest-back set of bungee brackets (the plastic loops screwed onto the hull of the kayak). Align the cord so equal lengths hang off the sides of the boat.

    • 2). Lace the bungee through the brackets, moving forward toward the seat. Make criss-crossing "X"s with the bungee. Once the end is reached, tie double square knots on the bungee ends to secure them into the brackets and prevent unlacing.

    • 3). Place the seat onto the cockpit seat section. Thread the nylon webbing on the sides of the kayak through the receiver buckles on the seat, securing the seat into the boat. Sit on the seat and lean back. Grip the two straps on either side of the seat and pull straight out in front of you to bring the seat-back upright and to your liking.

    • 4). Open the storage hatch by removing the cover. Locate the neoprene cover in the storage hatch and stretch it over the hatch opening. Place the plastic lid over the neoprene, and marry the female to male ends of the strap quick-clips to secure the storage hatch closed and watertight.
