    • 1). Open the Android Marketplace on your rooted EVO. Tap the search magnifying glass.

    • 2). Type "AdFree Android," "Ad Blocker and Net Toggle" or "NetSpector" into the search section and tap the magnifying glass. Tap the ad blocking application you want under the Apps section in the search results. Tap "Download" on the application's listing page. Scroll through the permissions that the app requires, then tap "Agree & Download" to install your ad blocker.

    • 3). Launch AdFree Android. Tap "Download & Install Hosts" to update your EVO's host files, so that the ad server for AdMob is blocked. Instead of advertisements, you'll see a blank space where the ad would display. Tap "Check Server for Updates Daily" if you want to keep AdFree Android up-to-date. Tap "Revert" if you want to remove the additions to your EVO's host file and return it to its original state.

    • 4). Launch "NetSpector Sniffer/Ad Blocker" and tap "Show Log." Tap any packets that are listed with AdMob or other ad servers. Tap "Drop" to add them to the filter list.

    • 5). Open "Ad Blocker and Net Toggle." Go through the list of installed applications displayed on the main app page and tap the listings from which you wish to remove ads. Tap "Block" to add that application to the ad blocking list.
