Honda Accord Rotor Removal
- Begin by putting the car up on a jack and removing the wheel. There is a brake line bracket that is attached to the brakes that must first be loosened with a ratchet so you have free play in the caliper when needed. Unbolt the lower caliper bolt with a 17 MM ratchet so that the bottom half comes loose from the rotor. Then remove the pad and retainers off the caliper. After everything has been removed from inside the caliper, unbolt the upper bolt so that the caliper is not held on by either side and then remove the caliper bracket itself. Those bolts are about an inch inward from where the bolts for the caliper was.
- There are two screws that hold the rotor in place, located just inside of the rotor near the axles, for the lug nuts and both may be seized, which would require an impact driver. If the screws feel like they can be easily loosened however, a normal screwdriver would work just as well. Making sure the impact driver is set to counter clockwise, loosen up both of the screws and pull them away, making it so that the rotor is now free from the car. Slowly pull the rotor off of the hub and you have successfully removed your first rotor, this step can now be performed on your other three rotors on the car.
