      That number is based on a much more complicated calculation that most people simply won't do. Besides, as you lose weight in any weight loss system you want to adjust your calories appropriately.

    • 3). SUBTRACT 5%.

      Healthy weight loss occurs steadily overtime due to lifestyle changes. Subtracting 5% off of your caloric intake moves you in that direction.

    • 4). REPEAT THESE STEPS UNTIL YOU REACH A HEALTHY WEIGHT.

      If you check yourself every week, and you have lost several pounds, adjust your caloric intake down. So, if you weighed 180 your calorie needs would be 2520. Subtract 5% and you get 2394. Increase your exercise level and you will lose weight. If you lose 5 pounds then your caloric needs are 2450 so reduce your intake to 2327 a day. If you lose 15 pounds and get down to 165 your maintenance needs are about are about 2310 and you should eat 2,194 to lose weight while exercising.
