    Aspirin

    • Swallowing aspirin to relieve pain is obvious, but it can also be used to ease pain topically. Two uncoated aspirins can be added to a teaspoon of warm water. After they dissolve, mix and rub on the skin with razor burn, leaving on as long as possible.

    Strawberries

    • The strawberry has healing properties and is often used in face masks. Make a mask for razor burn by mixing two mashed strawberries and a tablespoon of sour cream. Leave on razor-burned area for 10 minutes.

    Plants

    • Aloe vera, lavender, dried calendula flowers and dried comfrey leaves can all be used as soothing to razor burn. Aloe vera gel is readily available, while lavender oil or the dried leaves and flowers can be added to witch hazel.

    Other Options

    • A peeled potato is a quick and easy way to soothe razor burn. Simply apply it to the irritated skin. Apple cider vinegar is also an option for gentle healing.

    Considerations

    • Avoid colognes and scented aftershave lotions until the razor burn has healed. The alcohol can worsen the condition and cause additional burning.
