My Panic Attack Totally Hit Me Hard! I Hunted and Found a Solution!

So I'm sitting on my couch, actually laying down, doing absolutely nothing.
I was watching TV, so relaxed and finished with work for the day.
Out of nowhere I get this warm rushed feeling throughout my body and it hit my head so hard.
I swear I felt like I was on the verge of blacking out.
I sat up and started to breathe.
I remember reading somewhere that if you feel heavy with panic to just breathe deep.
In though your nose for five seconds, hold it for three seconds and exhale through your mouth for five more.
It did not work in this case.
I then started feeling more anxious and started to breathe quicker because I felt like I couldn't catch my breath.
Now I am pretty healthy, not skinny, and slightly overweight but generally no problems with myself physically.
I'm 34 years old and have somewhat of a hard lifestyle.
I'm always on the go; I have two children, a wife, own a home and have two businesses.
Is this anxiety disorder that I'm looking at? I couldn't tell.
I thought I was having a heart attack! My heart started racing, I felt dizzy and there was this extreme tingling throughout my body.
So what I did was call the ambulance.
The paramedics had arrived and checked me out real quick.
They took my vitals and asked me if I was sure that I wanted to go to the hospital.
They told me that although I felt like I was having heart issues, my vitals were fine.
They told me that people who go through what I just went through usually experience a panic attack or anxiety attack.
They said the same thing, usually breathing correctly, and calming down almost always take the edge off of my panic attacks.
Although they were giving me proper advice I still wanted to go to the ER.
So I went, and they did a boatload of tests on me.
The results were the same.
So I guess I was truly having a panic attack.
I then got help from my doctor and he put me on medication.
That worked...
for a while too, but didn't really solve the problem.
If I missed that pill once, it messed me up for days.
I hated that feeling almost as bad as the feeling of panic.
So...
I slowly weaned myself off and then started searching for a more natural way to ease this disorder that I have developed.
I was trying a whole bunch of different guides, cd's and techniques that really have seem to be working well for me.
I can't really tell everyone where to go to find these programs, every program works differently for every individual, you just have to search.
But I can tell you that one of them did work for me.
This turned out to be my solution, thank god! I can also tell you that finding out what I have had helped me out a lot through this struggle.
Medication is alright if you are looking for a quick fix, but it does come with a price tag on it and it definitely masks the problem instead of solving it.
It's very expensive and you have to religiously take it.
That stinks if you have a busy schedule like me.
The best way for me was trying a program that was well researched by myself by reading about it and trying it.
This was extremely inexpensive compared to medications (a one time price - my favorite!) and what I have learned within a self help program, I can always have in my wonderful memory bank! It's something that will stay with me forever and I do highly recommend that if you have the same issues that I have just told you I was going through then definitely cut out the meds and find a program that works for you! You will definitely be thanking me later! Best of luck to all the strugglers and I wish you all find the solution to your panic problems! It's a horrible thing to go through and if just one person can tell a lot of people the solution; that alone would make the world a less anxious place to live in!
