How to Rig Spinnerbaits
- 1). Spool a medium-heavy action fishing rod with 10- to 20-lb. test line. Use the lighter line in clear water and in areas with sparse cover. Use heavier line in murky or dirty water or where snags are present.
- 2). Tie the line to the spinnerbait at the top of the lure using a Palomar knot.
- 3). Slide a plastic trailer onto the hook. If you choose a plastic chunk, push the hook point through the middle of the chunk. If you choose a grub for a trailer, slide the hook point through the middle of the top of the grub head and then slide the grub up the shank of the hook. The head of the grub should be snug against the skirt, and the grub should be straight on the shank of the hook.
