    • 1). Insert the recovery disk into your optical drive. Turn off the computer and then turn it back on. This will cause the computer to reboot from the optical drive and use the information on the disk instead of on the computer's hard drive.

    • 2). Choose your type of recovery. You will be presented with two recovery types: full recovery and partial recovery. A full recovery will restore your computer to its original factory settings, erasing any files and programs that you have installed; a partial recovery will attempt to locate and repair any corrupted files, leaving files and programs that you installed alone. It's usually best to try the partial recovery first.

    • 3). Allow the recovery process to complete. Once the recovery process is complete, you will be asked to reboot your system. After rebooting, check to make sure that the system is functioning normally.
