    • 1). Loosen each of the lug nuts one complete rotation with the tire iron. Do not remove the lugs completely. Place the blocks in front of the tires that you will not be removing. Only jack up one end (front or back) of the car at one time.

    • 2). Raise the car up with the jack so that the tire has at least 2 inches of clearance. Put the jack stand underneath the axle to stabilize the vehicle. Remove all of the lugs and the tire.

    • 3). Unbolt the mounting bracket with the socket wrench. Tie it to the undercarriage with a rope to prevent damage to the brake line.

    • 4). Remove the brake pads from the bracket. They will slip out of the bracket.

    • 5). Compress the brake cylinder piston, which is the cylinder in the center of the bracket. Use a C-clamp to compress it if it is too stiff to compress by hand.

    • 6). Install the new brake pads by hand.

    • 7). Re-bolt the mounting bracket to the rotor. Place the tire back on and finger tighten the lugs onto it. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lugs with the tire iron.
