How to Change a DOS Font in Windows
- 1). Press the Windows logo and "R" keys simultaneously to display the "Run" window. Type "cmd" without quotation marks into the window and press "Enter" to display the command prompt.
- 2). Click the "C:\" icon in the upper-left corner of the command prompt window, then click "Defaults."
- 3). Click the "Fonts" tab. Generally, two display fonts are available in the command prompt: "Lucida Console" and "Raster Fonts." "Lucida Console" is softer in appearance. Select the font that you would like to use, then select a size from the list in the upper-right corner of the window. Use the preview area at the bottom of the window as a guide.
- 4). Click the "Colors" tab. Select a radio button in the upper left corner of the window to indicate whether you would like to change the color for the text or background, then choose a color from the palette below.
- 5). Click "OK" when you are happy with your color and font combination.
