How to Clean the Screen on a Notebook Computer
- 1). Fill a spray bottle with distilled water. Tap water may contain residue that will scratch your LED screen.
- 2). Turn off your notebook and disconnect it from any electrical sources.
- 3). Spray a soft lint free-cloth with the water to lightly moisten. Paper towels or tissues should be avoided as they may scratch the screen or leave behind bits of lint.
- 4). Wipe the LED screen with the cloth to remove soiled areas. Dell warns that cleaning a screen with an anti-glare coating with detergent or alcohol may remove the coating or damage the screen.
- 5). Use cleaner designed for antistatic and anti-glare screens if fingerprints or smudges resist your efforts with plain water, says Dell.
