How to Install Ice Makers in Kenmore Refrigerators

    • 1). Unplug the refrigerator's power cord from the wall outlet to prevent injury during the replacement of the ice maker.

    • 2). Open the freezer door, then remove the ice bucket.

    • 3). Loosen the two screws located above the ice maker, securing the ice maker to the freezer wall.

    • 4). Remove the screw below the ice maker securing the ice maker to the freezer wall, if applicable to your model.

    • 5). Lift the ice maker up and off of the mounting screws.

    • 6). Disconnect the ice maker's wire connector from the refrigerator wire harness, and then remove the ice maker.

    • 7). Connect the new ice maker's wire connector to the refrigerator's wire harness.

    • 8). Hang the new ice maker on the two mounting screws on the side of the freezer wall. Tighten the screws to secure the ice maker in place.

    • 9). Reinstall the lower screw, if applicable to your refrigerator.

      Reinstall the ice bucket, and then close the freezer door.

      Plug the refrigerator's power cord back into the wall outlet to complete the installation.
