Curtains

• 1). Measure the width of the bed; add a few inches to each side of the measurement and mark the spot on each side of the wall. Measure up from the floor to the height where you want to place the curtains.
  
  
• 2). Attach the rod mounting brackets at the marked locations on the wall. Secure the brackets with a screwdriver or a drill. Use a level to make sure the brackets are even on the wall.
  
  
• 3). Place curtains on curtain rod by looping the rod through the hooks or holes. Set the rod firmly in place on the brackets. Check the newly mounted curtains once again with a level to make sure the curtain headboard is evenly placed above the bed.
  
  

Shutters

• 1). Use an electronic stud finder to find in the studs located in the area where the shutters will be placed. Mark the studs with a pencil.
  
  
• 2). Place the shutter over the marked stud locations. Hold the shutter in place and screw holes through the shutter with a drill. Place two screws through the shutter into the stud to hold it securely in place.
  
  
• 3). Repeat the steps for locating the studs and screwing the shutter into the wall with each shutter. Check them with a level to make sure they are even. Clean any pencil marks left on the wall.
