How to Fish With Cedar Plugs
- 1). Tie the end of your line to the "o" ring end of the swivel rig. Make sure the knot is secure.
- 2). Open the clasp of the swivel rig and insert it into the "o" ring of your line lead. Close the swivel rig.
- 3). Open the clasp of the line lead and insert it into the "o" ring of your cedar plug. Close the swivel rig.
- 4). Cast the cedar plug into the water behind your moving boat. Let out enough slack that your lure extends out a significant distance away from your boat before closing the bail of your rod's reel.
- 5). Reel in your lure, alternating the speeds of your reel at regular intervals. Your lure will dive beneath the surface of the water and move back and forth in a horizontal waving motion, which will approximate the reel life motion of a bait fish.
- 6). Repeat Steps 4 and 5 in a different location if you do not get a hit on your lure. Change lures if you continue to get no hits after changing locations several times.
