How to Attach Curtains to Vinyl Windows
- 1). Measure the window's width, using a tape measure. Add 2 inches to this measurement. According to RV Workshop, recreational vehicle windows are constructed of flexible vinyl but reduce heat and sunlight. Cut a piece of hook and loop tape to this modified window width, using scissors.
- 2). Lay the curtain flat. If working with a box-pleated curtain, turn it over with the wrong side facing you. Remove the backing from the adhesive on the loop strip. Press the loop tape horizontally across the area where you'd normally install hooks.
- 3). Remove the backing from the hook tape. Press it horizontally 1 inch above the window. Press the curtain's loop tape to the hook tape above the window.

Pin through the curtain/elastic/curtain on the back of the pocket. Pin through the other end of the pocket/elastic/curtain on the pocket's back.

Measure 2 inches to the left of the left window corner. Mark an intersecting vertical line with a pencil through the horizontal line. According to the Vinyl Replacement Windows website, vinyl windows are installed on top of the existing wood or aluminum frame, which narrows the window surface and increases the width of the frame without increasing the width of the window.
- 3). Screw the bracket to the window's left side at the intersecting line. Repeat for the bracket on the window's right side. Slip the curtain over the rod. Attach the rod to the brackets.
