    • 1). Replace the AA batteries. You can access them by opening the panel on the underside of the keyboard. Without good batteries, the keyboard will have no power.

    • 2). Plug the wireless receiver into a working USB port. Some USB ports may not recognize or automatically install the wireless receiver, so you may have to try several ports to find one that works. Your computer will make a sound when the receiver is plugged in and ready.

    • 3). Reinstall the appropriate drivers by inserting the included Setup CD and following its instructions or downloading them from the Microsoft website, listed in the References section of this article. You must install the software drivers in order to enable the Media Center and Taskbar shortcut keys on the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 3000.
