Relieve Some Stress and Go Camping!

103 4
We live in stressful times, our jobs, kids, traffic, etc.
, and getting out of our everyday element is really necessary for good mental health and camping is one way to relieve some stress.
Camping does not have to be expensive beyond the gas it takes to get to your destination.
State Parks are inexpensive and there are plenty of places to camp outside of a park at no charge.
If gas prices are a burden camp somewhere close to home.
If time is limited plan a day trip.
But by all means get out and enjoy nature and the great outdoors! With that said spring is just around the corner and I am planning my next camping trip.
For me as I live in the desert the mere thought of getting to a lake is just too exciting! I'll sit by the lake with my fishing pole in the water enjoying the serenity and thinking of nothing.
That's right, nothing! This lack of thought is about the most refreshing mental activity one can do to alleviate stress.
By the way, I will probably be catching nothing, as I have not caught a fish in more than three years.
But, that's okay, it's all about the peace and quiet! I do have one peeve with camping and that is packing for the trip.
But I have overcome this, by packing in advance and now my gear is ready to go at a moments notice.
So, I wanted to share with you my method of saving time and the worries of forgetting something.
All my gear is packed and ready to go except for my clothing and food.
Everything is stored in two 25 gallon plastic containers.
These containers are stored right next to the fishing poles and my folding chairs.
One container holds my portable grill, tent, lantern, flashlight, batteries, inflatable bed, propane stove, propane, toiletries, etc.
basically the main stuff.
The other container holds my cookware, utensils, paper towels, collapsible water jug, towels, blankets, and of course dog food and the dog bowl.
I find the 25 gallon containers to be the perfect size.
A smaller container does not hold enough gear and a larger one can get too heavy, especially if you have to walk some distance to your camp.
Really the only thing I have to do is to decide on is what food to bring and once that's decided I just place my dry food items into the cookware container.
This will keep it away from any critters at the camp.
Then the only thing left to do is pack my cooler with beverages and refrigerated food items.
When its time to go we just back the truck in, load it up, and were off! When you return home you will only need to wash your blankets, towels, and replace any items you used up.
Store the containers with all your other camping equipment and your ready for your next trip.
Having all these items already packed and ready to go in one place will make your next camping trip a whole lot easier.
A great resource is www.

for a minimal fee.
So, what are you waiting for? Get out and go camping!
