Laptop Overheating Help

104 14

    Symptoms

    • Like a car engine, a laptop processor can overheat if interior components rise above a certain temperature range. This results in error messages, lag times, laptop crashes and program errors.

    Causes

    • Laptops generate heat when turned on. If the room is hot, it hinders the laptop cooling itself.

Having multiple windows open and using high-end applications uses more laptop resources and increases the temperature.

    Prevention/Solution

    • Laptops run multiple applications at once. This can generate heat as the components utilize more memory resources and electrical power. Make sure the laptop air vents are clear of dust and not blocked by objects. This blocks airflow and inhibits laptop cooling.Keep the temperature cool in the room where the laptop is used.
