How to Change Suzuki Motorcycle Brake Pads
- 1). Remove the caliper from the rotor by loosening the bolts with a 12 mm socket. Locate the pin on the top of the rotor and push it loose with needle-nose pliers.
- 2). Remove the brake pads from the caliper by turning it upside down. The pads should fall out once the pin has been removed.
- 3). Clean the caliper with brake cleaner, allowing it to soak in the cleaner before you dry it thoroughly with a rag.
- 4). Insert the new brake pads into the caliper, while being careful not to touch the front of the pads with your fingers.
- 5). Reinsert the pin into the caliper. It should slide through the holes on the brake pads and the hole on the caliper, holding them all firmly in place. Bolt the caliper back onto the rotor.
- 6). Remove the master cylinder cover located on the handlebar, next to the brake lever, and check that the brake fluid reservoir is full.
- 7). Pump the brake lever until it is firm.
