Definition: 3:2 ratio is a measurement of the dimensions of a photo. The photo measures at a ratio of three pixels wide by two pixels tall, which calculates to photos measuring about 1.5 times as wide as they are tall.

Other common aspect ratios for digital photography include 4:3 and 16:9. With most digital cameras, you can set the aspect ratio through the on-screen menu. Some image sensors have a 3:2 ratio, which means that your camera likely will record at full resolution when shooting at a 3:2 ratio.
