How to Fish With Mud Minnows to Catch a Flounder
- 1). Thread your egg sinker onto your line. Tie on your swivel right below it to hold it in place.
- 2). Tie a length of 2-foot 20 lb. test (this is called the leader) to the bottom of your swivel. Tie your hook to the end of this line. Your line sprawl should look like this: hook, leader, swivel, egg sinker and then main line.
- 3). Run the tip of your hook up through the jaw of your mud minnow and up out through the top of its mouth. This provides the most security for the hook.
- 4). Look for areas where there are current breaks to start fishing. Flounder like to wait on the outskirts of the current and then ambush passing prey.
- 5). Cast your line and wait until you feel your bait hit the bottom. Reel it in slowly, dragging the bait across the bottom.
