How to Create Site Collection in Sharepoint Server 2007
- 1). Open the SharePoint Server 2007 application on your computer. Click on the "Application Management" option from the top toolbar menu.
- 2). Click on the "Create site collection" option from the SharePoint Site Management section.
- 3). Click on the "Change Web Application" option from the Web Application menu if the application you want to create the site collection for is not selected. Select the application you want to use.
- 4). Enter a title and description for your site collection in the "Title and Description" section. Select a path for your URL in the "Web Site Address" section.
- 5). Choose a template for your site collection in the "Select a template" list of the "Template Selection" section. Enter the name of the administrator from the "Primary Site Collection Administrator" section.
- 6). Select a template from the "Select a quota template" list if you want to have quotas to limit resource use. Click on the "OK" button to save your changes and complete the creation of the site collection.
