How to Set the Screensaver Policy in GPO

    • 1). Click on the "Start" button in your task bar. Type "Edit Group Policy" into the Start menu's search box. Click on the "Edit Group Policy" icon when it appears in the Start menu.

    • 2). Expand the "User Configuration" option in the "Local Group Policy Editor."

      Click on the "+" to expand the heading. Expand the "Administrative Templates" heading. Expand the "Control Panel" heading, and then click on the "Personalization" folder beneath.

    • 3). Right-click on the "Enable screen saver" option in Local Group Policy Editor's right panel. Select "Edit" from the pop-up menu that appears.

    • 4). Click on the "Enabled" bubble when the "Enable screen saver" menu appears. Click "OK" to save your changes.

    • 5). Right-click on the "Force specific screen saver" option, in the Personalization folder, to assign a specific screen saver. Select "Edit" when the pop-up menu appears.

    • 6). Select the "Enabled" option in the "Force specific screen saver" menu. Type the path to your screen saver file into the "Screen saver executable file" field (e.g., D:\Documents and Settings\All Users\My Documents\My Screensaver). Click "OK."
