How to Read an IMG File
- 1). Double-click the IMG file on your desktop, and double-click the white volume icon that appears below the IMG file.
- 2). Double-click the PKG file in the pop-up Finder window, or drag and drop the application's icon to the Finder icon in the pop-up window to install the application.
- 3). Drag and drop the IMG file to the trash to delete the file once the application is installed.
- 4). Close the Finder window and drag and drop the volume icon to your desktop's trash. The trash icon temporarily changes to an eject icon when the volume icon is moved to the trash.
- 5). Right-click the trash icon and click "Empty Trash."
- 1). Open the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel." Click "Appearance and Personalization" and click "Folder Options."
- 2). Click "View" at the top of the window and click "Advanced Settings."
- 3). Click the checked box next to "Hide file extensions for known file types" and click "OK."
- 4). Locate the IMG file on your computer and click it once to highlight the file. Click it once more to open the filename edit menu and delete ".img" at the end of the file.
- 5). Type ".iso" at the end of the file and press "Return" on your keyboard. Click "Yes" to confirm you wish to change the file extension to the new extension.
