How to Make A Tea Tree Oil Acne Remedy
- 1). Purchase tea tree oil at a food co-op or pharmacy. A vial of tea tree oil usually costs between $8 and $10 dollars and will provide a month or more of acne treatments.
- 2). Dilute the tea tree oil into a 5% acne fighting solution. For example, 1 teaspoon tea tree oil to 9 teaspoons of water. If you have sensitive skin, use ½ teaspoon of tea tree oil to 10 teaspoons of water.
- 3). Open your pores with steam by taking a hot shower or boil water and trap the steam with a towel over your head. Opening the pores allows the tea tree oil to penetrate deep into your skin and kill the bacteria that causes acne.
- 4
Using a tissue or cotton ball, apply the tea tree oil as a skin care astringent on your face. - 5). Follow with a glycolic acid product for exfoliation which will give skin clarity. Look for a product that contains 5% glycolic acid, although with time you can work up to a stronger concentration.
