How to Space Red Cedar Plants
- 1). Remove weeds, rocks, grass and any other debris from a site that gets full sun exposure. Loosen the soil in several spots to verify the planting area offers 2 feet of unobstructed depth for proper root development.
- 2). Dig holes 3 to 10 feet apart. Plant the trees closer together to build a private fence or windscreen. Grow the plants as far apart as needed for your landscape design; more space between trees will reduce the risk of fungal disease.
- 3). Space multiple rows of eastern red cedar plants 6 to 18 feet apart.
