Good Desserts for Kids
- You can make a plain brownie extra special simply by frosting it with peanut butter frosting and topping it with coarsely chopped peanut butter cups. Go one step further by serving it with a small scoop of ice cream.
- Fruit dippers are fast becoming a popular dessert choice at many restaurants and at home. Good choices are apple slices with caramel dipping sauce or banana slices dipped in thick chocolate pudding.
- Waffle cone sundaes are easy to make and loved by kids of all ages. Fill the cones with three flavors of ice cream, one scoop per flavor and sprinkle on some nuts or candy pieces.
- Homemade snack mix can always double as a good dessert. Ingredients can include things like dried fruit, nuts, small cheese nips, pumpkin seeds, granola clusters and chocolate chips.
- Slice one side of strawberry so it sits flat. Use a mini chocolate chip for the nose and small dabs of dark frosting for the eyes. Two almond slivers make up the ears. Use a string of red licorice for the tail. Serve with mini cheese slices.
