How to Upholster Spare Tires

104 5
    • 1). Remove the spare tire from your vehicle and lay it flat on the ground.

    • 2). Lay your garbage bag on top of the tire to make sure the spare tire will fit in the bag.

    • 3). Flatten out your bag on the ground. Cut your selected fabric in the correct size to fit your bag. You will want to make one large piece of fabric that will wrap all the way around the bag but not cover the cinch tie of the bag.

    • 4). Apply your fabric glue to the bag and lay your fabric onto one side of the bag. Let the glue dry and then flip the bag over. Apply glue to the second side of the bag and wrap the fabric around to glue in place. Allow the glue to dry overnight.

    • 5). Put the spare tire inside the bag but do not cinch the bag closed yet.

    • 6). Lift the spare tire back into position in your car and mount in place. You will be able to mount the tire by slipping your hand into the bag to connect the tire to the vehicle. Once you have mounted the spare in place, maneuver the bag so that the cinch tie is in the rear of the spare where it can't be seen. Cinch the bag closed, tie it shut and tuck the ends in well.
