How to Setup a Printer Just to Use Black Ink
- 1). Log on to your computer and click the "Start" button. Look for a "Printers" or "Printers and Faxes" icon and click it. Click the "Control Panel" option and then "Printers" if you do not see a direct link to the printers toolbox.
- 2). Find the printer with properties you want to change. Right-click and choose "Properties."
- 3). Click the "Printing Preferences" button. Scroll through the tabs and look for "Advanced" and "Paper/Quality."
- 4). Scroll through the list of options and look for an option or check box to indicate black and white printing. The exact location of this option varies by manufacturer and model. Check the black and white option and click "OK" to save your settings.
