How to Clean Refrigerator Door Insulation
- 1). Turn the refrigerator off or unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Open the door all the way so you can access the entire gasket.
- 2). Place a layer of newspapers under the door to protect the floor from drips. Fill a clean bucket with warm water. Set it nearby.
- 3). Gently separate the folds of the door insulation with one hand while you liberally spray the rubber with a cleaner. Work your away across the entire top of the gasket. Let the cleaner sit on the gasket for a few minutes.
- 4). Dampen a cloth in warm water. Separate the folds of the gasket again, and clean between each fold with the damp cloth. Rinse the cloth as it becomes soiled.
- 5). Dry the gasket thoroughly with a dish towel.
- 6). Repeat the steps for the remaining sides of the door gasket.
