How to Make Aromatherapy Oil for Nighttime Colds
- 1). Mix and store your aromatherapy oil in a 6-oz. dark glass bottle. Remove the cap from the bottle and submerge both in a small pot of water. Heat the water to a rolling boil and leave the bottle and cap in for at least 1 minute. Turn off the heat and allow the water to cool before removing the bottle and cap and leaving them upside down to drain and dry.
- 2). Mix the oils in your bottle. Combine 3 1/2 tbsp. of sweet almond oil, 1 1/2 tbsp. of jojoba oil and 1 tsp. of vitamin E oil. Add to the mix 15 drops of lavender essential oil, 10 drops of clary sage essential oil and 5 drops of tea tree oil.
- 3). Cap the bottle and shake gently. You can use the oil immediately, but shake the bottle 2 or 3 times a day for the first 3 days. Store the oil in a cool, dark location and shake gently before using.
