Frigidaire Ice Maker Repair
- 1). Open the freezer door and insert a plastic utensil into the ice dispenser chute. If this chute becomes blocked, ice will not dispense as well as it should or maybe will not dispense at all. Use the plastic utensil to clear away any ice that is stuck in the dispenser.
- 2). Pull the refrigerator away from the wall and inspect the water line connection, which is at the bottom of the back of the refrigerator. The water line that extends from the wall should be connected to the water inlet on the back of the refrigerator. If the line is not connected, insert the line into the inlet and turn the bolt on the water line until it connects with the inlet to form a tight seal that keeps the water line in place.
- 3). Reset the ice maker by allowing it to rest for a few minutes if you have recently dispensed a lot of ice with no or only small breaks between obtaining the ice. The ice maker motor can overheat when it dispenses without a break. Although an overheated motor causes the ice maker to temporarily stop working, this is not a critical problem. After a few minutes, the ice maker will work again as it should.
- 4). Set the freezer's temperature dial to no warmer than 5 degrees Fahrenheit. The warmer the freezer is, the more difficult it is for the ice maker to produce ice. Wait about 24 hours after installing the refrigerator before attempting to disperse ice, as the freezer requires several hours to reach a temperature cool enough to create ice.
