Ozark Trail Assembly Instructions
- Find a good location. Pitching any tent requires a good, flat spot. Be sure the tent is pitched away from any hills which could result in water flowing into the tent. Low-hanging branches can also cause problems so try to avoid them. Consider weather factors like orientation to the wind and amount of shade when searching for the right place.
- Make the pitching area suitable for setting up your tent. You're in the outdoors, so chances are there are a lot of sticks, rocks and other uncomfortable pieces of debris scattered around. Clear the area of all such debris to protect the tent and prevent things from poking you when you lie down.
- Place a ground sheet or footprint down to protect the tent from wear and tear. Gather all your tent pieces (tent, poles, fly and stakes) and lay the tent flat. Assemble all the poles together. If you're not sure about which way the poles need to run, examine the tent. Ozark Trail dome tents use sleeves, so it should be easy to determine how the poles run by looking at the direction in which the sleeves are situated.
- Insert each pole into the appropriate sleeve and push it all the way through to the other end. Now insert the other poles in the same way. When each pole is fully inserted, carefully flex it into its arched shape and connect each end of the pole onto the pin-ring on the tent. Connect all the pole ends to the appropriate pin-rings. Then attach any clips located on the tent onto the poles.
- You don't have to use the fly unless the weather is bad, so decide whether you want to put it on right away or leave the tent open. To put it on, throw it over top of the tent and properly align it so the door on the fly is in front of the tent door. Slide the fly pole into the sleeve on the bottom of the fly then insert the ends into grommets. Attach the fly to the main tent by snapping the S-shaped hooks onto the corresponding rings on the base of the tent.
- Stake the tent out using the included tent stakes. Work around the tent and knock the stakes through the stake-outs on the tent base and into the ground. Make each stake-out as taut as possible before hammering the stake. Readjust the tent as needed to get the stakes all the way down into the ground (if you hit a rock, for instance). Be sure to use all stakes. Install accessories like gear lofts or cup holders.
