How to Make Warm Compresses
- 1). Boil water and pour approximately one pint of it into a large glass bowl. Leave it to cool enough that you can comfortably stand it on your skin.
- 2). Add 4 drops of essential oil to the hot water. Lavender and rosemary are known for their antiseptic, soothing properties.
- 3). Fold your bandage or small towel until it is around 8 inches by 8 inches. Place it on top of the water and leave it to soak.
- 4). Squeeze the bandage to wring out excess water. Place it over the body part to be treated.
- 5). Cover the warm compress with plastic wrap and a small towel on top to keep it in place. Leave it on until it has cooled to body temperature. Repeat the process with another compress.
