How to Take Off a Silverado Door Panel
- 1). Insert a prying tool under the power door lock molding and gently pry the molding from the door panel. Then insert the prying tool under the plastic panel below the mirror and window control switches. Pry up this panel and remove it carefully.
- 2). Remove the power mirror and window switches by depressing the tabs on the switches and pulling them out of the connector. Then remove the tiny hexagonal nut securing the controls to the metal door frame with a 7 mm hexagonal wrench.
- 3). Remove the small hexagonal nut from under the door handle (the pull handle) with the 7 mm hexagonal wrench.
- 4). Insert the prying tool under the molding around the door latch handle and pry up the molding. Slide the molding piece off of the handle. You may need to pull the handle to the "Open" position to remove it.
- 5). Pry off the rectangular interior light on the bottom corner of the door with the prying tool. Then disconnect the light by pressing down on the connector tab and removing the connector.
- 6). Grasp the door panel by the pull handle (not the door latch) and gently lift it off the door frame.
