    • 1). Turn off your Mazda Millenia's engine. Pull the hood release lever beneath the steering wheel to unfasten the hood. Raise the hood and prop it open.

    • 2). Inspect the front corner of the engine compartment on the driver's side to find the box labeled "Fuses."

    • 3). Open the fuse box cover to view the engine compartment fuses and relays. Locate the relay marked "Fuel Pump." It is in the row closest to the windshield. Grasp the relay and pull it out of its slot to remove it.

    • 4). Insert your key into the ignition. Start the engine and let it run until it sputters. The engine will then shut off, starved of fuel. This relieves the pressure built up in the fuel system and also clears out fuel from the fuel lines. Turn the key off and proceed with the repair you need to perform.
